Lao Cai has full services of telecommunications companies such as: VNPT, Mobifone, Viettel, FPT - Telecom, Vietnamobile, SCTV. The whole province currently has 4,017 BTS mobile information stations; 99.3% of villages and residential groups have BTS stations providing 3G, 4G services; 5G mobile services have been initially deployed in the centers of communes and wards; Fiber optic infrastructure has reached 100% of commune and ward centers to ensure the provision of fixed Internet services.

Currently, the telecommunications infrastructure system in the province is invested and developed on a large scale, widely, becoming an essential means of information, promptly serving the direction and operation of all levels of government, natural disaster prevention, socio-economic development, ensuring security, national defense and meeting the communication needs of the people with increasingly stable quality and transmission network.
