Lao Cai province's power infrastructure
Lao Cai province's electricity infrastructure has developed strongly in recent years, contributing significantly to promoting socio-economic development, ensuring social security and fully meeting the needs of people's daily life and production as well as the economic, cultural, social and national defense development of the locality.
The power grid system has been invested in and expanded, reaching most of the remote villages and hamlets. Many hydropower projects, transformer stations, and transmission lines have been put into operation, ensuring a stable power supply for production and daily life. This is the foundation for Lao Cai to attract investment, develop industry and services, and at the same time affirm its role as one of the clean and sustainable energy centers of the region.
- Lao Cai province has 3,504 transformer stations, including: 15 110KV transformer stations, total capacity of 1,338 MVA; 03 35/10KV transformer stations, total capacity of 11,500 KVA; 01 35/22kV transformer station, total capacity of 7,500kVA; 02 35/6KV transformer stations, capacity of 27,600 KVA; 01 22/6KV transformer station, capacity of 20,000 KVA; 2,783 35/0.4KV transformer stations, total capacity of 566,284 KVA; 662 22/0.4KV transformer stations, total capacity of 276,620 KVA; 38 10/0.4 KV transformer stations, total capacity of more than 9,680 KVA.
- Lao Cai province has 1073.54 km of 110 KV lines, of which: 694.71 km are assets of the Electricity Company and 378.83 km are assets of customers.
- Medium and low voltage lines managed by Electricity: 4,956.91 km of 35 KV lines, 493.93 km of 22 KV lines, 41.19 km of 10 KV lines and 5.66 km of 6 KV lines, more than 7,400 km of low voltage lines.
- With the current power grid system, Lao Cai Electricity Company is currently managing a total of 483,194 power grids. Providing electricity to 98.89% of households in Lao Cai province using the national grid. Of which, in the central wards, 100% of households use electricity for daily life, in rural areas, this rate is 98.41%.
The increasingly complete power infrastructure not only meets the immediate needs but also creates the driving force for Lao Cai to make a breakthrough in the future. With the orientation of developing green and sustainable energy associated with grid modernization, the province is gradually affirming its position as the energy center of the Northwest region.
