The chaotic scene in front of Lao Cai station in the past.

The Lao Cai station square area was invested in by the State with an area of thousands of square meters. For a long time, it was used as a parking lot for households or transport companies; a corner was used to park buses and trams running within Lao Cai city. The management work has many shortcomings, making this place become shabby, unsightly, polluting the environment, creating a bad impression on tourists, especially international tourists when coming to Lao Cai... Therefore, people expect that after the renovation and embellishment project is completed, it will create a new look for this area.

Once completed, the project will become a place for entertainment and cultural activities for local people and an impressive destination for tourists.

In recent years, the city has focused on mobilizing many resources to invest in and renovate the urban area with modern and synchronous planning. The green park system has been expanded, roads have been upgraded and living spaces have become increasingly green - clean - beautiful. These efforts have contributed significantly to helping the center of Lao Cai province gradually reach the standards of a type I urban area, becoming a civilized, modern and livable urban area.
