Ta Gia Khau Border Guard Station is stationed in Ta Gia Khau Commune, Muong Khuong District. The station is assigned to manage the two most impoverished border communes of the province, Ta Gia Khau and Din Chin. Over the years, officers and soldiers of Ta Gia Khau Border Guard Station have not only excellently fulfilled their tasks of managing, protecting territorial sovereignty, maintaining security and order in the area, but also actively helped and cared for the people's lives, becoming a solid support in the hearts of the people here.

The family of Ms. Giang Seo Dua (Mong ethnic group, in Sin Chai A village, Din Chin commune) is one of the impoverished households that has received great support from the Ta Gia Khau Border Guard Station. Her husband passed away early, leaving Ms. Dua to raise 5 children. Sympathizing with her difficult situation, the Ta Gia Khau Border Guard Station contacted and took in 2 children of Ms. Dua, Ma Seo Khoa and Ma Seo Xuyen, when they were in the first and second grade. Up to now, Ma Seo Khoa has graduated from vocational school and is independent, and Ma Seo Xuyen has been a high school student. Ms. Dua also received 80 million VND from the fundraising campaign of Ta Gia Khau Border Guard Station and the mobilization of hundreds of working days of officers and soldiers to help build a solid house. In addition, officers and soldiers of the Ta Gia Khau Border Guard Station also accompanied and supported Ms. Dua with plants, seeds and provided guidance on farming and livestock raising techniques.

Din Chin and Ta Gia Khau communes have 17 villages with a total of more than 1,000 households, of which more than 55% are impoverished households. Due to harsh climate conditions and lack of water for daily life and cultivation, people in Din Chin and Ta Gia Khau can only grow one crop of rice and corn per year. Closely attached to the ethnic minorities in Din Chin and Ta Gia Khau, Ta Gia Khau Border Guard Station has implemented many activities to help people develop socio-economy, eliminate hunger, reduce poverty and implement social security programs. Implementing Directive 681-CT/DU of the Standing Committee of the Border Guard Party Committee on assigning border guard station party members to be in charge of households in border areas, Ta Gia Khau Border Guard Station has assigned capable and experienced cadres and party members in mass mobilization work to assign tasks to help and take charge of a number of families in the area.

With the motto of "3 attachments" (attachment to local government, attachment to the area, attachment to the people), "4 together" (eating together, living together, working together, speaking the ethnic language together), the staff of Ta Gia Khau Border Guard Station has actively attached to the people and the area to grasp the situation, advise the unit leaders and the local Party Committee and government to deploy appropriate support measures, helping households to develop the economy, sustainably escape poverty; organize propaganda, mobilize people to eliminate backward customs, build a civilized lifestyle, etc.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duy Cuong, Political Commissar of Ta Gia Khau Border Guard Station, shared: In order to perform well the task of managing and protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security, in recent years, officers and soldiers of Ta Gia Khau Border Guard Station have successfully perform the regular work of propaganda, mobilization, and guidance for people in border areas to clearly and correctly understand, and implement the Party and State's policies and guidelines on the task of protecting national borders and regulations such as: Vietnam Border Guard Law, Directive 01-CT/TTg of the Prime Minister on organizing the movement "All people participate in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security in the new situation".

The unit also regularly coordinates with the Steering Committee of the movement "All people unite to build a civilized life" of the two communes to organize propaganda and mobilize people in villages and hamlets to actively participate in implementing the contents of the movement and programs, projects, and emulation movements of the province, namely: National action program on preventing domestic violence; gender equality, care, children care, protection and education, and some emulation movements such as "Good farmers in production and business", "Lao Cai new rural areas building and sustainable poverty reduction", etc.
In order to improve the effectiveness of the movements, Ta Gia Khau Border Guard Station has advised the local authorities to implement the contents of the movement in many forms with 5 specific criteria including: Building a stable and gradually developing economic life; building a healthy and rich cultural and spiritual life; building a green - clean - beautiful environment; mobilizing people to properly implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; building a spirit of solidarity and mutual assistance in the community. In 2022, the unit built a pilot model "Lao Cai Border Guards accompany villages and hamlets people to eliminate early marriage and incestuous marriage". The unit's staff closely coordinated with local Party committees, authorities, and organizations to propagate, mobilize, raise awareness, change behavior, and contribute to reducing the early marriage and incestuous marriage in the locality.

The program "Spring on the border - warming the hearts of the villagers" gives presents to students of difficult circumstances.
In the past 5 years, as implementing the new rural construction program, Ta Gia Khau Border Guard Station has contributed 360 working days to help people in the border area work and produce; participated in building 19.2 km of new rural roads; mobilized and donated money and labor to build new houses for 3 families affected by fire with a total amount of more than 30 million VND. In addition, the unit has donated 18 breeding pigs to 15 families, built 1 house for a poor household worth 218 million VND. As implementing the program "Helping children go to school - adopted children of the border guard station", Ta Gia Khau Border Guard Station has sponsored 7 students with difficult circumstances in the area (each child receives 500,000 VND/month) until they finish high school and 2 children are directly raised at the unit. Specially, the meaningful program that brings great material value is "Spring on the border - warming the hearts of the villagers". Ta Gia Khau Border Guard Station mobilized, supported, and gave presents to the people of the two communes of Din Chin and Ta Gia Khau with the amount of 1.5 billion VND.

The efforts of Ta Gia Khau Border Guard Station have been contributing to strengthening the strong military-civilian relationship, helping people with many difficulties in the border area to overcome challenges, sustainably escape poverty, and join hands with forces to firmly protect the Homeland’s sacred border.
