Lao Cai Youth "Drink water, remember its source"
During the historic April days, towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the youth of all ethnic groups in Lao Cai province organized many activities "When drinking water, remember its source" to educate revolutionary traditions and show gratitude to generations of fathers and brothers who have devoted themselves to the peace, independence and freedom of the nation.Recently, Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union coordinated to organize a special political activity for cadres, union members and youth with the theme "Welcoming the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification".
Unlike previous activities, this political activity was organized in a new format, which was to watch the film “Tunnels: Sun in the Dark”. This is a film with great historical value, recreating the indomitable fighting spirit, intelligence and creativity of our army and people in the resistance war against the US to save the country.

Through the film on the big screen, the sacrifices, heroic and indomitable fighting of our army and people, the losses and pain of millions of Vietnamese people in the long and arduous resistance war were partly recreated, making more than 200 cadres, union members and young people unable to hide their emotions and pride.
In addition, during the screening of the historical film “Tunnel: Sun in the Dark”, the Cinema, Lao Cai Provincial Cultural and Cinema Center welcomed 1,200 audiences, many of whom were young people. Ms. Hoang Thi Hoan, Secretary of the Thai Nien Commune Youth Union, Bao Thang said: In addition to the number allocated by the Provincial Youth Union, the Thai Nien Commune Youth Union has promoted and mobilized 30 more local youth union members to watch the film. After watching the historical film, the general feeling of me and the youth union members is that we are more proud of the heroic revolutionary tradition, the contributions and sacrifices of previous generations to make the country peaceful, independent, unified, and prosperous as it is today. Our young generation will follow in our footsteps, continue to strive, study, and work to contribute to building our country and homeland to be more prosperous.


Trinh Tuong Border Guard Station Youth Union coordinated to organize many meaningful traditional education activities for local students.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, the Primary and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities in Coc My Commune, Bat Xat, coordinated with the Youth Union of Trinh Tuong Border Guard Station to organize extracurricular activities with the theme "The immortal heroic song echoes forever".
At the program, officers of Trinh Tuong Border Post, teachers and students of the school talked and reviewed the historical milestones in the great resistance war against the US of the whole nation. Students attending the program also watched documentary films about the brave fighting spirit of our army and people in all the battlefields of the South, helping to strongly arouse pride in the heroic revolutionary tradition of our ancestors.
In the atmosphere of the whole country jubilantly organizing activities to celebrate the great holiday, schools in Lao Cai province have been organizing many meaningful activities to educate students about revolutionary traditions. These include inviting veterans who directly participated in the resistance war against the US, officers and soldiers of the armed forces to talk about history; organizing painting and storytelling competitions with content related to the resistance war against the US to save the country; organizing art performances, stage scenes recreating historical events; decorating the national flag, the Party flag in the school grounds...

Schools organized many meaningful activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation Day.
In the early 70s of the last century, joining the ranks of young people across the country joining the army to support the southern front, Mr. Do Dinh Hai, from Vach village, Cam Duong commune, Lao Cai city, also volunteered to go to war. Throughout the southern battlefield, Mr. Hai and his fellows fought bravely and then joined the liberation army marching to Saigon to celebrate the joy of total victory.
After returning from the army, Mr. Hai suffered from the after-effects of Agent Orange, a deadly poison that not only affected him but also his children and grandchildren's health for a long time to come.
During a friendly chat with local officials and union members, Mr. Hai enthusiastically told about the memories of the time of war with pride clearly visible on his face. Receiving a gift of gratitude from the youth of Lao Cai city, Mr. Hai was touched by the affection of the local union members and youth.

Lao Cai City Youth Union organized a visit and presented gifts to veterans, wounded soldiers, and sick soldiers who participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country.
On this occasion, Lao Cai City Youth Union visited and presented gifts to 12 relatives of martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, and former youth volunteers who participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country, to show gratitude to the veterans and people with revolutionary contributions who did not hesitate to sacrifice their blood and youth for the struggle to unify the country.

These days, young people of ethnic groups in Lao Cai province have organized many delegations to visit, give gifts, and show gratitude to veterans and families of policy beneficiaries.
Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union has directed district, town and city youth unions to organize delegations to visit, encourage and give gifts to veterans and families of meritorious servicemen.
Another outstanding activity implemented by Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union was to organize a candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to provincial-level heroic martyrs at the Nam Cuong Ward Martyrs Cemetery, Lao Cai City on the evening of April 28.
At the same time, at 17 martyrs' cemeteries in localities in the province, union members and youth will also burn incense and light candles to pay tribute to the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation.

Through the above activities, it contributes to propagating and educating cadres, union members, youth and children about the purpose, meaning, affirming the position, great stature and great value of the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign and the resistance war against the American imperialists, completely liberating the South and unifying the country. Thereby, promoting the spirit of solidarity, dynamism and creativity, expressing the deep gratitude of the youth towards the generations who sacrificed their blood for the cause of national liberation, building and protecting the beautiful Vietnamese Fatherland for thousands of years.
