Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Sinh received foreign business associations and the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Vietnam

On the afternoon of March 14, as part of the "Meeting 2025" event series, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sinh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, hosted a courtesy meeting with Mr. Oudet Souvannavong, President of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Ms. Ingrid Christensen, Country Director of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Vietnam; and Mr. James Tan, Secretary-General of the Malaysian Business Chamber in Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sinh expressed his joy at welcoming international delegates to attend this important event, and emphasized the role of Lao Cai as an economic bridge between Vietnam, ASEAN and Southwest China.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Sinh said that Lao Cai is focusing on developing in four key areas, including: Transport infrastructure and logistics (upgrading smart border gates, promoting high-speed railway lines); trade and industry (developing border economic zones, attracting investment in industrial parks); financial services, tourism (focusing on developing smart tourism, especially the Sa Pa national tourist area, along with financial and commercial services to improve competitiveness and attract international tourists); digital transformation, green development (applying digital technology in socio-economic management, while focusing on sustainable development solutions, environmental protection and climate change adaptation).

The Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the "Meeting 2025" event is of great significance in connecting businesses, promoting cooperation and investment opportunities in Lao Cai. Mr. James Tan, Secretary General of the Malaysian Business Association in Vietnam expressed his desire to promote cooperation between Malaysian businesses and Lao Cai province.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. James Tan, Secretary General of the Malaysian Business Association in Vietnam, expressed his desire to promote cooperation between Malaysian enterprises and Lao Cai province, especially in the fields of processing industry, trade and sustainable tourism development. Mr. James Tan also emphasized that with its strategic location and available potentials and advantages, Lao Cai has many opportunities to attract international investment. He hoped that the province would continue to create favorable conditions for Malaysian enterprises to expand their operations in the fields of trade, tourism, especially agriculture, contributing to promoting bilateral economic cooperation.
