Suoi Dum Bridge 2 connects the area of Toong Sanh commune (Bat Xat) with Trung Chai commune (Sa Pa town) through Suoi Dum, nearly 2km downstream from Mong Sen bridge. The bridge was started in May 2021, with a length of nearly 200m, a bridge surface of 7.5m, designed to build by balanced cantilever technology, with a large vertical slope of 6% - 8%. Total investment cost is nearly 40 billion VND.

In the process of formulating measures to organize construction, the investor, the design consultant, the supervision consultant and the construction contractor have studied the implementation plan meticulously, scientifically to be close to the actual conditions and the ability to meet the resources due to going through complex terrain.

The completion of Suoi Dum Bridge 2 contributes to speeding up the overall progress of the highway project connecting Noi Bai - Lao Cai to Sa Pa, meeting the increasing transport demand. At the same time, contributing to improving the exploitation efficiency of Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway as well as promoting socio-economic development, ensuring security and defense in the Northwest region in general and of Lao Cai province in particular; in accordance with the planning and development orientation of transportation. On the other hand, the completed project will remove the black spots, reduce the risk of traffic accidents on National Highway 4D, shorten the travel time from Lao Cai city to Sa Pa town and vice versa.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that Lao Cai Sapa Bot Investment Joint Stock Corporation, the project investor, and the contractors need to urgently complete some remaining items of Suoi Dum 2 bridge in particular and the whole project in general. In order to complete the project on time on June 30, 2022, to celebrate the 115th anniversary of the establishment of Lao Cai province, Lao Cai Sapa Bot Investment Joint Stock Corporation needs to be more drastic in urging construction contractors, updating progress, detailed construction planning, mobilizating machinery, human resources and materials, taking advantage of favorable weather, working 3 consecutive shifts. Supervision consulting units must be regularly present at the construction site to inspect, control and take over to ensure the quality of the works. During the construction process, labor safety and environmental protection must be ensured.
