For Ha Nhi people in Lao Cai, boys and girls of adulthood are free to make friends. The couple agrees to be friends, they will ask the parents of both families to get to know each other and when they have enough confidence in love, they can have children before wedding ceremony.

Two matchmakers from the bride's house inform the groom' family, at this time the groom will officially announce to invite everyone to attend wedding.

The bride makes up to wait for the bride's family to pick her up.

The bride's picking-up delegation will include groom, the groomsman and the groom's younger sister or older sister accompanying groom to pick up the bride.

The groomsman will come inside to announce the time has come and the groom is waiting at the door, inviting the bride to come to the door so that the groom's family can meet her.

The bride picking-up delegation takes the bride to go straight to the groom' home, on the way without rest and without returning to the bride’s house.

When reaching groom's house, the groom's mother went to the door, holding a spoon of clean water to wash the hands of the groom, the bride and the other members before going inside the ceremony.

The bride is resting in the room of her son's family when she first arrives.

The bride and groom kneel one time in front of ancestor altar to pray for their merry and protection.

Once getting inside the house, the groom's mother will wear a basket containing two packs of sticky rice. The bride wears and the groom stands behind; When the bride put it  down the groom must receive the basket, which shows the harmony between the man and the woman, showing that they will always be together for a hundred years of happiness.

When the rituals are done, the tray of rice worshiping is arranged in front of the ancestor altar so that they can worship.

At the end of the day, the groom's family organizes an intimate dinner to invite relatives and neighbors to join in the fun.

After the wedding, the bride and groom come together to take care of the trees to get luck.
